CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:When people think of Elizabeth, they don't think of her as someone who is would be in the horse business. Thin and fragile in appearance, it's quite the shock that she hasn't broken any limbs yet, and it must be her sense of high caution that keeps her clear of all these injuries. She has pale skin, that has thin pink scars in multiple places from mostly bite wounds or falls - though nothing too shabby. She considers them her battle wounds and she is rather proud. She stands about 5'3", small and pretty strong, she can take on the world if you throw it at her. Her hair is long and black with natural waves. She usually has it tied back with her bangs in front of her face. A bright blonde streak makes up just the corner of her bangs (About 3 inches wide with the color.) Even though her skin is pale, in dim lighting, it can look almost spotless. The way the light hits it can make both her hair and skin pop with color, not a flaw to be seen. No acne, no blemishes. The only mark you will find on her skin is a small portrait of her first horse - a buckskin paint - on her right shoulder blade. It is only the head and small portion of the geldings neck. She also has a version of gorgeous swirls and spins over her chest and many other small markings on her arms, lower stomach, and chest. All in all, she is a rather small woman with thin limbs and a fit frame. Her stomach tends to be small, but with rather large thighs it gives her the curves that she needs, even at such a small stance. For facial features, she is quite the beauty, though she will never get it. Everything is proportional, giving her a slightly gaunt like appearance in her face. Cautious of her eyebrows the most, she is always careful to keep them at a semi-perfect arch. She has pretty hazel colored eyes which tend to change due to the source of lighting, and neatly perched lips that don't appear to be too large or too small for her delicate features.[break][break]



PERSONALITY:++Capable; Though would probably wouldn't believe it at first glance, Elizabeth is nonetheless capable of what she does, without anyone's assistance. She has done this since she was a little girl and doesn't know anything aside from the business she has made her home.

++Determined/Dedicated;Elizabeth knows exactly what she wants in her life and nothing is going to stand in her way. She is just as competitive as some as the trainers out there and though she doesn't put herself in the shoes of many of the racers, she is highly capable of shoving people aside if they get in the way of her goals.

++Intelligent/Strategic; Clever and cunning, not only is this girl smart but she is tactical. If you feel that you have been outdone by a girl - you probably have. She uses her technique to help out those at her stable. Horse not breezing well enough? Talk to Elizabeth, she might just be able to come up with a more positive result.

++Faithful; In the racing business, loyalty is hard to come by now a days. But, Elizabeth knows where her loyalties lie. She is very considerate and loyal to the Blackwood stable and it doesn't look like she will be going anywhere soon. The only times she may be known to meddle in other stable business is when she is trying to sell her good crops.

++Good-Natured; Nonetheless, Elizabeth is one of the more laid back of the horse racing people. She knows what she needs to do and if you aren't there to compete, she will be your best friend. She is both compassionate and a bit sassy at times, but overall she just wants the best for her horses and the business she is in. She tends to get along with pretty much everyone and keeps friendly with the competition even though in the end - she is all the ready to take them down.

=High-spirited; Stubborn and ready to get what she wants - Elizabeth is a wild filly of her own. She knows what she needs to do and she won't stop in getting her done. Even if it is against the rules or she is told not to, chances are she is going to get out there and do it anyway because it is what she needs to do.

=Naive; For doing what she does, Elizabeth is very young. She still has that inexperience about her that makes her want to trust those that seem trustworthy. Because of this, she can be led to make decisions that to others would be considered mistakes simply because she lacks that experience that comes with age and that she is still naive in her youth.

=Reserved; As friendly as you are or she is to you, there is very little chance that someone would truly get to know Elizabeth. She tends to keep her mouth shut and not speak unless spoken to. Most think it's shyness, but really, she just knows how things can spread and does not want to be involved in all the drama. Though racing is covered with it, she tries her very best to keep away.

--Abrupt/"Brutally Honest"; Elizabeth tends to simply say thing show they are. She is a friendly person nonetheless, but she believes that sugar coating things or not telling the whole truth is pretty much the same as lying. So if you go to her with the problem, you will get nothing but the hard truth, so just remember that before you get hurt over her honesty.

--Competitive; When you get her into her game mode, Elizabeth is cruel when it comes to being competitive. She tends to be rather vulgar and can lose her self-control when it comes to out-witting the other stables. Not much can really be said here, but watch your back when you spin her up, because she unravels like an adder snake.

--Difficult; This is more relationship - boyfriend/girlfriend - wise. She tends to be so goal oriented that she puts her relationships aside to focus on what needs to be done with work. You could say that she is in a relationship with her business for the most part. As nice and friendly as she can be, relationships aren't her strong point and usually her partner ends up having a very difficult time handling her.

--Intolerant; Elizabeth is not a patient person and it needs to be out there. She is not the kind of person you would want to send your teenager daughter/son to work with unless you want them put back in there place. She is good with kids, but tends to lack the patience and playful personality to tolerate all the games they can play or mistakes they can make. She understands that no everyone is going to know what to do. But, she will not sit back and take the rude and vulgar games that teens like to play - or certain "adults" either.

--Timid; Elizabeth tends to be rather timid when it comes to other people - she means well and comes off pretty nicely, but she is not all that comfortable until she really settles into knowing them. Horses are a different matter and she is a little crazy when it comes to them. However, though her people-skills seem great on the outside, she's a bit of a mess on the inside.

HISTORY: Ever since she could stand on her own two feet, Elizabeth was riding horses. Her father was a trainer for equitation horses and of course his only daughter had to be the star of his show. She was good kid growling up. She did good in school, went through a few rough patches in high school - but everyone pretty much does, and used horses as her get away. By the time she was 16, she had earned so many medals in show jumping and dressage that it was pretty much enough to bathe in. Most of her shows were ridden on a gorgeous buckskin paint/QH cross named Murphy.The gelding was built like an ox and could jump 5 foot solid. He was her heart and soul. When she turned 18, she cut shows for a little while and went off to intern with a couple horse trainers at the track. As a teenager, her dream was to be a Thoroughbred trainer. However, the older she got, the more she was pulled toward the life of a breeder. She enjoyed taking care of the mares and then breaking the babies once they came of age. So the age of 21, she took to starting her own ranch..

Her family was very helpful in the matter. They helped her with the financing and her father was more than happy to help her get a few horses to start with. It was every horse persons dream - to have the support of their family and enough money to get them on their feet. Or maybe it was just the thrill of having something that was completely hers that got her going so well - who knew. She took Murphy with her and though he was only a pasture pet compared to the Thoroughbreds, it was good to wind down from a hard day on the back of her favorite horse who was 22 years old now. The business started out a little bumpy, money being hard once she was on her own with no other kind of income besides the donations from her parents, that she needed to start paying back. So she stuck her nose around a bit, finding a place that could help her out a bit more, and soon after a part time job, she was on her feet. The part-time job wasn't needed for long however. When she was 25, things began to set off.

The selling of her first yearlings was what gave her enough umph to continue with the business and not back off and start something new. She made the choice that since she had years of training, she would start ground work with the yearlings before they were off. Have them practice walking and trotting with a small saddle and her on top. If they could get used to the feel of a rider, they would be easier to handle and quicker to get on the track as two year olds. If trainers learned that she did that, maybe they would be more willing to buy her crops. Everything was uphill from there and currently, she sits as a 28 year old with her 29 year old paint gelding at her side - ready to take on the world.
