Yes, that's the best way that you can describe this 5'10 man. He is by no means a giant in terms of height, but neither is he short and that quickly extinguished knocked him out of contention to be a jockey once he hit his growth spurt in his late teens. His taller stature allows a lot of room for growth in the muscle and toning department and when you work with thousand pound animals, his muscled physique became a natural byproduct of his lifestyle. As a result of the hazards of his job, it isn't unusual to see a new kind of bruise, scrape or scar on his hands and arms. Most scars have faded over time, but there are a few stubborn stragglers that have decided to remain and add a little "character" to his features. There is one distinctive scar under his nose on on his upper lip from getting walloped by a skittish juvenile in the head. It left a lasting impression, needless to say, on his face. It isn't an unbecoming at all upon him, as it gives him that rough and ragged look that the ladies seem to appreciate. His body itself is trim, toned and well kept with clean lines that entice your eyes to follow him. Muscled and strong, it doesn't in any form or shape encumber his movements. He's lithe and confident, comfortable with both his body and his actions. [break][break]Liam usually maintains a scruffy facial appearance, but it works for him. By no means does Liam eery look like a homeless bum. He's got the facial hair scruff and shadow that caresses his fine and strong jawline and frames a face that isn't unpleasant to gaze upon. He likes to let his hair grow a little bit longer than the average man, but he has been known in the summer to cut it to a more manageable buzz cut. A nice, rich chestnut brown with faint, natural blonde highlights, his hair has wonderful fullness and texture that just begs you to run your fingers through. Probably the most striking feature about Liam are his slate blue eyes. They are so dark that people haven often wondered if they were gray and they are very effective at communicating exactly how he feels, or to pin you down with an intimidating stare. When you step back and look at Liam you'll see a man who takes pride in his appearance and engages in an active and healthy lifestyle. [break][break] PERSONALITY: [break][break]He's a focused man. There is very little that can distract him from his goals once his mind has been made up about something. Some have just called him a stubborn mule, but he rather likes to think of himself as driven and self-confident. He does have a carefree side to him, but that's only after work hours of course. He's often been criticized by his co-workers for working "too hard", but when your job is all you have you can tend to develop the workaholic tendencies that show up within Liam's personality. He's his own worst critic and if he fails at something you can be sure he'll start raking himself over the coals for those mistakes. He's driven to do everything with excellence and sometimes that can become a hindrance outside of his work ethic. [break][break]Unrealistic expectations are his greatest faults. He seems to have it in his own head that everyone should have the same drive that he does and when that person doesn't meet those expectations he can tend to write the person off without ever really giving them a chance. This doesn't feed into his having a dynamic social life, in fact, his circle of friends is very small and he usually likes to keep it that way. People can be disappointing for him and so he limits that disappointment by keeping his contact with them to a minimum. For those people though who do manage to make it into his circle, you won't find a more dedicated friend. He won't forget your birthday, anniversary, special events...he has a steel trap brain and it locks away details, no matter how minute they may seem. He's definitely into the details. Those who are close to him, are those who truly get to see the real Liam and the real Liam is a sight to behold. When he isn't obsessing over his to-do list and actually relaxes, he's quite the fun guy to be around. Those moments of carefree periods are few and far-between, but his closest friends try to bring more light-hardheartedness to his life. Once he begins to unwind, his stuffy exterior begins crumble and what you're left with is a man, that has dreams and ambitions and is living with the simple fear of possibly not being able to achieve them. There's a softer side to him, but even he isn't really convinced that it's there. He lacks sometimes in compassion and sympathy, but those who are close to him have learned to accept the rougher edges of who he is. There is after all the off chance that someone, someday, might teach him what it really means to be human and not a shell of one. [break][break] HISTORY: [break][break] Born and raised in the horse world, his parents were accomplished thoroughbred breeders and owners and their renown was known throughout the southern portion of the Unites States. When you live with people like his parents, there is no room for error and his parents were if anything, hard on him. He didn't resent his parents in the slightest because it was all he ever knew. His family was rarely ever home, their business causing them to travel about the country and the UK to continue the development of their bloodlines. Thoroughbreds were his parent's oxygen and he caught the bug at a young age, often playing out and about in their private barn. There were a few negative side affects of never having his parents home, namely one of them being his overwhelming drive for perfection. It took a lot on his part to attract his family's attention for his merits and very little for his faults. School was a welcomed escape and he went to a private boarding college, always dabbling in the equestrian team and doing quite well for himself, but returning home after graduation was an eye opener. [break][break]He didn't want to play nice anymore with mom and dad. A person can only take so much negative attention without positive reinforcement for so long and so, once he graduated he came home packed his bags and decided to make his own mark on the world. He shuffled about the Kentucky area for a time, his parent's name helping him to his chagrin, land jobs in lucrative thoroughbred operations, enough so to build up enough of a reputation that they eventually offered him the job of head trainer, but he wasn't ready quite yet to settle in close proximity to his parents. He was desperate to escape his parent's shadow, to break out and have a truly fresh start. Kentucky might be home for him, but home was no longer where he felt needed or wanted. When he'd received a call from Mr. Stone to accept his offer of head trainer in Ocala, FL, well he simply couldn't have asked for a more prime opportunity and he didn't hesitate to act. He packed his bags, threw his dog in the car and drove south to the Sunshine State. He's eager for a real chance to make his own mark. To truly be known for his hard work and not just be an association with a name - that's his dream, to be known for Liam's works and not his parents, to be a man that produces quality in thoroughbred horses despite all odds. He couldn't have walked into a more perfect scenario at Stonebridge. The farm is new and under the radar and what better way to prove his worth than to help put the stable on the map? [break][break] With all of his dreams and ambitions his personal life has always been sidelined. He's an ethical man, driven to do his best and his training methods are always done right by the horse. He could personally care less about the people. [break][break] |
