She has shoulder length dark brown hair that is naturally wavy and thick, along with greenish-brown eyes. She has a scar on her forehead, just past her hairline, from when she was learning to ride a bike as a child and fell. It is small and not very visible, but if Amber were to tell you, you could pick it out. There is a small tattoo on her ribcage that is a heart with the border made up of her family’s names. What she lacks in stature, Amber makes up for in presence. As a lawyer, she has learned to draw attention to herself without saying anything. She has an aura around her, almost, that just tells everyone to pay attention to her and to look at her. She has a warm, inviting smile that reaches her eyes if it’s something she’s genuinely happy or excited about. At work, Amber dresses in the usual lawyer fashion – pantsuits for court days and slightly more casual, but still nice blouses for office days. When she makes an appearance at the barn, however, she can often be found wearing jeans and a t shirt. Her hair is often in a ponytail or a bun, depending on how she feels that day and how she’s running on time. Amber is typically well groomed, with her nails cut short and painted the color of the week and fruity perfume. She is also very fit from being an avid runner, something she uses as a form of stress management. She has to wear contacts or glasses due to being near sighted. It was only recently she switched to the contacts, but she still wears her glasses once in a while. Seeing as they are what her brother calls her “nerd glasses”, they do tend to give her a very knowledgeable look. [break][break] PERSONALITY: Amber has two sides: her business side that comes out at work and when she’s making a deal, and her fun, relaxed side that comes out away from the office with friends and family. Business Amber is very serious and shrewd, always trying to get the advantage. She refuses to back down to anyone, which can lead her into some bad business moves if her heart gets set on something. This feeds into her competitive nature and lifestyle. She is determined to be on top of everything, be it a 5k, horse race, or court case. Dedication is fueled by her drive to win. Amber runs each morning to train, invests as much as she needs to win races, and will study cases well past the time many of her coworkers have left. As determined as Amber is to succeed, she also knows to play fair. She thinks that she has worked too hard, for too long, just to let everything come crashing down just so she could win. She treats her horses extremely well and does her best to attend every race, much like a parent with their children, although her job doesn’t always allow her to leave. Usually, she is not quick to anger, but when she does, she will snap. Enemies that try to come between her and her goals are in for it, because, Amber, as a lawyer, knows her way with words. And, god forbid, if someone were to harm one of her horses, they would really be in for it. Around friends and family, amber is much more easy going and relaxed. While still competitive, she is lighter about it and encourages everyone to join friendly contests. She will let the little kids win board games and climb all over her in fun and games. It is like a huge weight is taken off of her shoulders when she is with her loved ones. Not many, however, are given the opportunity to see this side of amber, as she tends to put up a wall when it comes to her personal life. When it comes to relationships, Amber doesn’t always know how to react. She is fine when the topic is business, but if the conversation turns personal and she doesn’t know the person very well, she tends to close off and not know what to say. It doesn’t help, either, that her days are full from morning to evening with work and horses. If someone were to break past her walls, she would be very open about things with them on the events in her life beyond business. [break][break] HISTORY: Amber was born into a very well off family. Her father was a very successful stockbroker and her mother was at the top of a well known magazine. Their little girl was their pride and joy and they spoilt her rotten as a small child. As she grew older, however, they realized what effects could come later in life from giving their baby everything she wanted then, and became much stricter. At first, the change was hard for everyone, but as the years passed, everyone was glad they started to make Amber be responsible for herself a little bit. In high school, Amber was a straight A student, looking to follow her parents’ example of success. She wasn’t the perfect child by any means – she went to her fair share of parties her parents didn’t know about – but she put in the work in her classes so that after graduation she was able to attend law school. Law school was where Amber developed her love of horse racing. Her roommate was a fairly well known trainer’s daughter and slowly drug Amber into her world. The pair would do their homework while watching the horses. It turned out the Amber actually had a pretty decent eye for horseflesh, but that fell to the backburner after graduation from law school. It wasn’t until just recently when she was offered the job as a partner at a big law firm in Ocala that Amber decided to get into the horse business and buy a few racehorses. She opted to send her horses to Stonebridge Farm over the more successful stables in the area, due to their facilities and that it was a perfect fit for her. An ambitious, up and coming owner with an ambitious up and coming stable was a match made in heaven, Amber thought. Together, they would go to the top.[break][break] |
