CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: Standing at 5’8, Skylar comes across as a tough and solid woman who is slightly taller than the average woman. She has an hourglass figure but that does not define her body. Very athletic, she has long muscular arms and legs and a six pack most guys would be jealous of. The long hours of working with horses in the blaring sun gives her skin a honey glow but she somehow has managed to keep freckles away. Her skin looks fairly flawless although she has an unusual birthmark along her right ribcage. A few scars have the privilege to grace her body. That is, lucky enough to mar her skin and be a constant reminder of the wild times she used to have. They appear in random areas such as the elbow, wrist or knee and they each have a fantastic story behind them. Skylar is a natural brunette although she gains natural blonde highlights during the summer. Her hair is usually half way down her back and has only been cut short on one occasion. It comes in natural waves and is insanely thick so she usually keeps it up in a ponytail or bun when she is working. Skylar thinks personal hygiene is a must and never leaves the house without smelling like her perfume of the day, usually something springy or tropical. Three ear piercings grace each of her ears although they are relatively unnoticeable as she wears studs in place of the gaudy jewelry most people would think she would put on. She does hide a tattoo that winds up from the top of her left foot to her knee. In the form of a Japanese cherry blossom tree branch, it has a meaning to her that no other person would understand. If she lets someone look close enough, they can see tiny figures in between the petals in the shapes of locks, keys, and many other hidden treasures.[break][break]

PERSONALITY: Skylar definitely has a problem with authority. She absolutely hates being told what to do and some say this stems from being raised in a Christian family. Even though she was raised in one, Skylar has never been religious. She tends to balk at the idea of wasting a perfectly useful morning in church. She likes to spend her time wisely and will get frazzled if projects or her ‘missions’ get interrupted. Taking her work seriously, she will spend however long it takes to complete a task and make sure it is correct. Most times she will barricade herself in a room for hours if it means getting some peace and quiet from the outside world. When she gets interrupted or asked for help, she is grumpy, but willing the help in whatever way possible. Skylar gets stressed out very easily and has been known to take it out on anyone around her. She has tendencies to explode if overwhelmed but it usually takes months of non-stop stressing for her to do so. By no means does she do this on purpose and almost instantly she feels horrible about doing it and will try to make up for it.

Skylar is very willing to help a friend in need. It is very hard for her to say no and this has often come back to bite her in the butt when she takes on too much at once. She has a tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve and has been heartbroken over guys many times over the years. Her initial reaction to a cute guy is to flirt and one thing will lead to another...and yeah things will happen. She has been called a slut more than once in her life although she is just the opposite. All Skylar wants is a guy she can call her best friend and look forward to being with the rest of her life. Guys see her as an easy target and she is. Skylar is very trusting with new people but is very quickly creating a new image in her head of all guys. Every day she is shutting down and beginning to become more suspicious of the guys who flirt with her.

Kind hearted and quiet, Skylar spends most of her time on her own. Either in her house or at the barn, she relishes this and will come across as standoffish at times. She has very few female friends as she sees them as picky and too dramatic. After a while of getting to know someone, Skylar will turn into an energetic and rather talkative girl. She is quite smart and is usually hunted for, for her problem solving skills.

HISTORY: Skylar grew up in an all Christian family in a small town just outside of Chicago, Illinois. Instead of pushing her towards her dreams, her parents decided to push her into the religion and possibly a missionary position in the future. Being the strong-willed and hard-headed woman she was, Sky pushed back just as hard. She routinely snuck out during service and would spend her mornings riding the horses in the pasture in her good Sunday dress. Furious, her parents kept insisting she would have to get over her love of horses and look to God. By the time she was a teenager, her parents had given up on their daughter ever being religious. Wild and determined, Sky loved working with animals and spent a good deal of her high school years working at a neighboring stable. By the time college came around, Sky had no other major on her mind other than being a veterinary. So after high school graduation, she was off to vet school in Colorado. After spending four years at school, she finally got her bachelor’s degree and moved to Florida on a mission: she wanted to work at the racetracks. She had spent a few years working at the racetracks in Colorado and had learned the tools-of-the-trade while she was there. So when a trainer spot opened up, she jumped on it.

As for her romantic past, Skylar has no shortage of boyfriends. One right after another started the same way, and ended the same way. At first they were really sweet and seemed like nice guys. But then they decided they only wanted certain intimate things and nothing serious. So one by one, Skylar would dump them and move back into her lonely life. There was only one man worth mentioning in her past and that was her most recent one in college. He was a math major at the time and Sky loved him. They got along rather well for the first year, and then things started to fall apart. He started drinking and going to parties and one night Sky found him in a vulnerable position with her roommate, and that was the end. After that, she made the quick decision to move to Florida to chase her dreams.
